It is one of the masterpieces of world literature, which dealt with diverse and complex philosophical issues, in a literary style and in a high narrative form. In this book, Kierkegaard laid the foundations of existential philosophy, both religious and non-religious. He also linked thought and human life experience, through his presentation of what are called the three existential stages; aesthetic, moral, and religious. The first part, which he called "A", deals with the aesthetic; he is a young, gloomy, poetic character, who lives his day superficially, has great respect for Mozart, writes poetry and recites theses to "the fellow dead", and leaves the impression of being a miserable, poor man, who despite his youthful youth sometimes becomes despaired, and basically feels that he has finished with life. This part also includes, in addition to “A,” the chapter “The Seducer’s Diary,” which concludes the first part of the book. It is impossible to understand Kierkegaard’s world and life and to grasp his thought without understanding his romantic relationship with Regina Olsen (1822-1904), his engagement to her, and then the breaking off of the engagement after one year. Not to mention the great impact this relationship had on him, to the point that it turned into one of the world’s famous and immortal love stories.
