Explanation of the book
The author believes that the way a person dies is largely dependent on the form of the social system in which he lives; the way of death, such as illness, murder, natural death, etc., is a behavioral system like any other social practice, derived from the general social system and realized in the context of the life of the individual who will die. This understanding leads to raising two main questions regarding the possibility of studying and understanding society by studying the prevailing death patterns in it, and the possibility of studying death by studying its different patterns resulting from the diversity of societies across different times and places.
