Explanation of the book

Section: Political books

Number of pages: 392 pages

The thesis that this book attempts to build is based on the hypothesis that the question of “Islamism” that has filled the world is not the real problem, but rather a mere manifestation of a more complex problem, which is the problem of the reformist-historical defect that occurred recently during our time during the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. In his book, the author sees that the origin of the defect in the concept of the Islamicity of the state lies in the method of Islamists’ reading of the legal text (the Qur’an and Sunnah). It is a method that gives priority to details at the expense of generalities, and to rulings instead of judgment. The author attempts to overcome this defect by striving to liberate the legal text from history and the effects of culture attached to the inherited understanding.
