"Jamila" tells the story of a young woman from Kyrgyzstan who lives a deep-seated conflict with herself and her surroundings, due to her uniqueness in dealing with her inner feelings, in contradiction with outdated social customs and old traditions. Jamila found in the humble, hard-working, poor Daniyar, who returned from the front with a leg injury that did not prevent him from working in the kolkhoz, a friend who could understand her deeply, a man who deserved great love. In this novel, which he spoke about through the model of the young man "Sayed", Aitmatov showed the hero's insight and acumen. The writer delved deeply into the human psyche, describing the inner suffering of the heroes and the painful state of loss that the young man "Sayed" experienced when the two lovers, Jamila and Daniyar, fled the village. Aitmatov achieved great success in describing the inner state of a person, his suffering, and the justifications for his behavior. We will see him always trying to reach all the corners of the inner world of this rational being, and this is clearly evident when the character is in a critical or extreme state, as we will see in the character of “Jamila” herself, so a contradiction occurs in the hero’s psyche between good and evil, between what is moral and what is immoral, between personal interest and self-denial.
