Explanation of the book
The research concludes that the Algerian national movement confronted the French colonial authorities from within its institutions, and formulated its demands in its own language, that is, in French, while the religious reform movement formulated its discourse in Arabic, which allows us to say that the political discourse of the national movement, with its emphasis on the idea of the state, belongs to the era of modernity, especially since the criticism of the colonial discourse was a prelude to dismantling the French presence in Algeria, and searching for a political, social and cultural alternative to it.
