Explanation of the book
Section: Political Books
Number of pages: 223 pages
The book includes three sections containing twenty-four chapters, all of which revolve around the theme of death, its meaning among nations and peoples, ways of dealing with it, and the contribution of beliefs about it in building mythologies, and the contribution of the Islamic and Christian heritages and Greek philosophy throughout its stages in building a conception of death. Most people are repelled by death, because of the psychological disturbance, disturbing obsessions and negative impressions it causes, as it is the "unknown" that transcends every conceptual approach and every attempt to comprehend it rationally and realistically. The living have witnessed people die, and death has stormed their homes, kidnapping one of their family members, subjecting them to harsh experiences that have generated in some of them intense feelings close to the feeling of dread, fear of separation from a loved one and deprivation of a dear one, and other things.
