The Epic is the memoirs of Abdul Salam Jalloud, a man who played an active role in the history of modern Libya, and in Libya's complex Arab, regional and international relations, during a period in which his country played an important role at the level of international relations and revolutionary movements in the Third World in particular, and at a specific stage in the development of Arab nationalism. He lived the events and facts in this historical context of his experience, as a political actor and statesman; an experience that extended over a period of no less than thirty years, in a stormy stage full of transformations whose effects, review and evaluation continue to this day.

These memoirs do not miss the useful human dimension in the author’s description of his childhood, youth, and the formation of his personality. In doing so, he describes circumstances that constitute a model for young officers who dreamed of Arab unity, renaissance, change, and the restoration of Islamic civilization in the face of Western hegemony.
