Uncle Tom's Cabin is one of the most famous novels in all of American literature. In it, its author depicted the lives of American Negroes before the Civil War, inflaming the noble souls and stirring up American public opinion against the injustices inflicted on that class of citizens. This led to the war to free slaves (in 1861) and then the victory of the northern states over the southern states.
