“The text that we present to the Arab reader, in translation and presentation, is a valuable text that the Arab reader has no knowledge of, neither with its contents nor with its unique style, as it is completely different from what De Saussure’s linguistic thought promoted through the book of lectures in general linguistics attributed to him. The book “On the Essentials of Language” is ahead of the book of lectures in general linguistics, but at the same time it is behind it. He is ahead of him in terms of looking at the formation of de Saussure's linguistic and semiotic thought, as despite the slight difference of researchers in the period of his liberation by de Saussure, in both cases he preceded the period of lectures that de Saussure delivered between the years 1907 and 1911, at the University of Geneva. This book is an important stage in de Saussure's project aimed at revising the scientific principles on which linguistics should be based. Hence, we understand his description of this book.
