Obsessions and doubts overwhelm a Sudanese writer when he believes that the most complex and strange character in his latest novel is eerily similar to a real person he has never met before. And because the writer in his novel condemns this character to an early death, he falls under the influence of an idea that dominates him, which is to try to save the real man from a similar fate. Taj El-Serr takes readers on a terrifying journey inside the mind of a troubled writer who is losing control of his characters and his sense of reality. The events of the novel take place in two parts of the city of Khartoum, in the crowded area and the one that suffers from extreme poverty. It is also characterized by a deceptive narration, which shakes readers' confidence in the veracity of what its narrator tells them, and plunges them into the worlds of mental asylums and the ambiguous relations between fantasy and reality.
