Karnak's novel talks about the period between two wars - the war of setback and the war of liberation - and the scandal between them of intelligence corruption and the resulting accusations that were haphazardly received, and the torture that befell its recipients, especially the youth. The name of the novel belongs to the Karnak Café, which is owned by the Mu'tazila dancer Qorniflah, which provides, with drinks, a suitable environment for cultural meetings between the youth of the novel: Helmy, Ismail and Zainab - the children of the revolution and its intellectuals.
