Explanation of the book
The first section of the book is titled by the author as “East”; It was devoted to talking about the pivotal role of “Belgrade”, which represented the gateway to the East in Europe until the end of the nineteenth century. It also included a picture of Bosnia during the Austrian rule. This section concluded by talking about Albania (the key to the Near East) until the beginning of the twentieth century. The author spoke in the second section of the book; Which he entitled “Orientalism” on the development of the concept from the East to Orientalism, and exposed the divergence in Yugoslavian Orientalism between the “Belgrade” and “Sarajevo” schools, as he explained the role of Bosnian Orientalism in introducing Arabic literature. As for the third section of the book, it was devoted to defining the important institutions and personalities in the Balghan region, including Orientalist centers and scientific figures.
